Coast Guard Vessel Safety Check will be available at Ocean Point Marina. Participation is voluntary.

Roger F. Duncan, noted sailor, author and maritime Maine historian, will set the stage for this year’s flotilla sail with a lively presentation at Ocean Point Marina.

Mon July 17 – Pulpit Harbor.- Anchoring

Favorite harbor of many skippers and several association members. Well protected.

Tue July 18 – Seal Bay – Anchoring
No Services. Chart 13308 (68) 44°05.356 N 068°48.506 W
Variety of beautiful and well protected anchorages. Careful navigation required.

Wed July 19 – Lunt Harbor, Frenchboro – Anchoring
Restaurant, fuel available. Chart 13313 (70) 44°07.289 N 068°21.789 W
Well protected, moorings provided by Lunt & Lunt. There is also room to anchor outside of harbor. Many walking trails.

Thu July 20 – Northeast Harbor – Moorings/Anchoring ???

Base point to explore Mt. Desert by bus or on foot.

Fri July 21 – Northeast Harbor – Moorings/Anchoring ???

Lay-day to allow time to rest, relax, and explore. Day sails to explore Somes Sound and other local areas are also possible.

Lovely, protected anchorage on the eastern shore of Frenchman Bay. Tafts describes it as “Large enough to hold a whole cruising club!”

Sun July 23 – Bar Harbor. – Slips, anchoring
Full Service, boat and crew. Chart 13323 (73) 44°23.602 N 068°12.151 W
Busy place, but a visit to Mt. Desert would not be complete without a visit here.

Mon July 24 – Cranberry Island – Moorings or anchoring
Full service. Chart 13321 (74) 44°15.480 N 068°14.574 W
Small, quiet island with great views of Mt. Desert and plesant walks.

Tue July 25 – Laundry Cove, Isle Au Haut. – Anchoring
Full services. Chart 13313 (69) 44°05.106 N 068°37.861 W
Splended views of Penobscot Bay. Exposed to north and west but fine with normal SW conditions

Wed July 19 (1 week) or Wed July 26 – Carvers Harbor, Vinalhaven – Moorings
Full services. Chart 13305 (65 inset B) 44°02.617 N 068°50.202 W
Vinalhaven’s official “front door” and a facinating place to visit. Busy fishing harbor and can be a challenging place to visit. Alternates (anchorages) might be Sand Cove or Old Harbor anchorages to the west.

Sat July 22 (1 week) or Sat July 29 – Snow Island. – Anchoring

Beautiful anchorage overlooking Dodge Morgan’s Snow Island. Fuel, water, ice, pump out available at Great Island Boat Yard 1 nm north.
